Our staff team is led by Andrew Williamson, who was inducted as Senior Minister at BPC in July 2015.
Prior to coming to BPC, Andy (photo-centre) had been lecturer at the Talua Ministry Training Centre in Vanuatu since 2000. Andy’s Master of Theology thesis at Moore Theological College was on Karl Barth and his PhD thesis was on Paul’s ethics. His wife, Rosemary is doing the writing now, producing Bible studies in the Bislama language of Vanuatu. Andy and Rosemary have two girls, Leila and Sarah.
Our Youth Director
Chris Gillan (photo-right)serves as the Youth Director at Beecroft Presbyterian Church. Chris has previously completed a Ministry Training Apprenticeship and loves sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and the freedom He brings. On his day off you will find him at the beach, reading a book or making a short film. If you want to get in touch, you can send an email or find him on Facebook.
Our FES Student
Mark Lawson (photo-left) is our Field Education Scheme (FES) Student this year. Mark is married to Julianne, and has three children; Victoria, Nathaniel and Georgiana. Mark has worked as a laywer for almost 20 years. He came to Christ in his early 20’s as a result of reading “The Pilgrim’s Progress” for a course at University. He is currently studying at Christ College, while maintaining his practice in Law. You will generally find Mark running our bookstall after the 10:30 service.
If you call us, the friendly voice at the end of the phone belongs to Sarah Everett. She is the one behind the camera in the photo above. She is also the person in the church office who is able to answer most of your questions, she handles all the office administration, as well as bookings for the church hall and weddings.
If you want to contact any of our staff, please call us.
The Ministry Team is never just the paid staff. We believe that Jesus has given every Christian the gifts and opportunities to serve (minister) to their fellow Christians and to the community around them. We see this happening at BPC every week!
Those who exercise the overall leadership responsibility for a congregation in the Presbyterian Church in NSW are known as Elders. The meeting of the Elders is called Session and it usually meets monthly. The Senior Minister is normally the Moderator of Session. Each Sunday you will see one of our Elders up front in their role as Duty Elder. The Elders cooperate with the Minister in the oversight and government of the congregation; they visit the aged and sick, and seek to promote the spiritual welfare of the congregation.
Our Committee of Management
Each year our congregation chooses some of our members and adherents to look after the church finances and property. This group is called the Committee of Management. The number of Managers is determined by the Elders. The Elders are also members of the Committee of Management. The Senior Minister is usually the chairman, and the committee elects their secretary and treasurer. The responsibility of the managers is to maintain the property of the congregation, particularly its land and buildings, and to look after the church finances. A sub-committee looks after and provides pastoral care for Glenburn, which are our independent living retirement units located immediately adjacent to BPC on Mary St.
Here are just a few:

Vivid Youth is our Friday night youth group, and aims to provide a fun, encouraging and positive Christian youth group environment.
