Connect Men: is encouraging all men to attend BASECAMP: Sydney this year. BASECAMP: Sydney will take place at the Sydney Showground at Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday 12 August. It will be a great day of excellent Bible talks, including a segment with Chris Gillan and Charles Minto. Come along and support them as they talk to 1500 men. The theme for BASECAMP is “Foolproof: Practical Wisdom from Proverbs.” We have got a special price of $80, so get in quickly. If you are a student the price is $40. Connect Women Event: Tea Party – Showing God’s Love through Hospitality. Ladies, please save the date for Saturday 2, September 2017. You are invited to join us to hear our speaker, Lucy Ying, talk on the topic of Christians providing hospitality. Come to be encouraged and challenged about the “why” we should show hospitality and also learn about the “how” to show hospitality to each other. Christ College Lectures: The 2017 Eliza Ferrie Lecture at Christ College will be delivered by Dr Timothy Witmer a Professor at Westminster Theological Seminary on the topic “What to do instead of worrying” on Thursday 16 August at 7.30 pm with an all day seminar on 19 August called “Shepherd Leaders for local churches.” Further details from Rod Best.
National Church Life Survey: The results of the 2016 survey for BPC have been received. As only one copy was received, if you would like a scanned copy then please advise Rod Best.
Child Protection Training: It is mandatory that everyone who works with children in our church should have a working with children check and attend child protection training. The next training provided by us will be held on 20 August 2017 in a room off the hall at 12 noon. If you wish to inquire about a working with children check please speak to Rod Best, Session Clerk.
Presbytery Visit: The Presbytery of Sydney North will be holding its Tuesday 15 August meeting in our church. Before this happens we will be hosting a dinner for them. The dinner starts at 6.00 pm and will finish in time for the Presbytery meeting to start at 7.30 pm. All members of the congregation are invited to attend the dinner. There will be a cost of $10.00.
